One Brahman was walking to his home, carrying a kid on his shoulders, which he was going to sacrifice. Halfway there, the swindlers saw him and began to say to each other: “I wish we could feast on this kid today.”

Having drawn up a plan of action, they ran ahead and moved along the road towards the Brahmin, dividing up first so that first he came across one, then two, and then three.

The one of the swindlers who went first said to the Brahmin:

“Undoubtedly, pious one, this dog has high virtues if you carry it on your shoulders.” She must be great at driving down the beast!

And having said so, he passed by.

“What is this scoundrel saying? - thought the brahman. - So that I could put the dog on my shoulders? How is this possible?!”

As soon as he caught up with the next two scammers, they asked him:

“What kind of obscene thing are you up to, brahman?” This sacrificial cord, rosary, water jug, sacred mark on the forehead, and on the shoulders - a dog! Ugh! Or maybe she is very good at chasing hares and wild boars?

And with these words they passed by.

Then the brahmana, deciding to test himself, threw the kid on the ground and carefully felt its ears, horns, tail, etc.

“What fools! - he thought. — They mistook the kid for a dog. And how did this please them?” He again shouldered the animal and moved on.

Then three people met and said:

- Be careful not to touch us, go sideways!

- Why?

- Yes, because you are only pure in signs, brahman, but in reality, apparently, you are a hunter, since you walk with a dog!

They said and moved on.

“What is this? - thought the brahman. “But if so many people say the same thing, then it’s true.” And werewolves are not uncommon in the world. What if this is a rakshasa in dog form? He’ll take some other good stuff and take on his own appearance!”

And, no longer doubting anything, the Brahmin threw the kid of the goat to the ground and, fearing that he would later have to perform an atonement rite, began to run without looking back.

And the scammers ate the kid.
