One day a camel and a donkey fell behind the caravan. They found a flowering lawn and began to graze on it.
“Come on, camel, let’s be friends,” said the donkey. “Let’s help each other get rid of the luggage and let’s graze in freedom as long as we want.”
The camel agreed.
Friends grazed on the lawn day and night. Soon the donkey became fat and smooth, He rolled on the ground with pleasure. And after lying around, he jumped and galloped all over the meadow.
- Oh, friend camel! - exclaimed the donkey. “I’m definitely drunk now.” I really want to sing!
- What are you talking about, friend ass! — the camel got scared. “You can’t sing now!” Get these thoughts out of your head. We are not that far from the main road. If the caravan workers hear it, they will come here, catch us and force us to carry heavy loads again.
- My heart is breaking with the desire to sing! - said the donkey. “I can’t stand it!” By all means I need to sing!
And, raising his head, the donkey screamed deafeningly several times in a row. The cry of the donkey spread far around, and it was heard by caravanners walking along the road.
-Where did the donkey come from? - they asked each other. “It seems there is no housing nearby!”
They sent a man to look for him, and he quickly found a donkey and a camel. He mounted the donkey and drove it towards the caravan, and pulled the camel along with him by the bridle.
The caravan leaders unloaded their camels, tired from the long journey, and loaded their load onto their rested friends.
“Didn’t I tell you that your singing would get us into trouble?” “That’s how it happened,” the camel said to the donkey, barely moving his legs under the heavy load.
The donkey was silent and also barely moved. Suddenly he fell into the road dust, began to roll on the ground and knocked his luggage off his back.
The caravan men began to beat him, but he pretended to be sick and did not get up.
“Apparently the poor donkey is sick,” the people said. “We can’t delay the caravan because of him.”
And they put the donkey on the back of his friend the camel, on top of the luggage. The donkey was very pleased.
The caravan passed along a narrow mountain path over a cliff a thousand sabers deep. The camel raised his head and said:
- Hey, donkey! I'm definitely drunk now. I really want to dance! What do you say to this?
- Is now the time to dance? — the donkey got scared. “Get these thoughts out of your head.”
“I remembered your song, and my heart is breaking with the desire to dance to its tune,” said the camel and, dancing, shifted from foot to foot.
The donkey rolled off the camel, hit the edge of the cliff and flew into the abyss.
