Caeculus was born in the fire of the hearth, but then he was thrown out of the flames. The girls carrying water found it lying near the extinguished fireplace and brought it to the shepherd brothers Digidia. They raised and educated him. Due to the blinding smoke, the child's eyelids closed so that at first glance the boy gave the impression of being blind. That's why they called him Tsekul - the blind one. When Caeculus grew up and matured, he did not stay with the herds of his teachers, but founded a new city - Praeneste.
