One day a beggar was walking through the village, asking for alms. He knocked on the house where a man named Brenborjo lived with his wife Zhanna. Only his wife was at home, and she opened the door for him.
- What do you need?
- A piece of bread, if your honor will.
-Where are you going?
- I'm going to heaven.
“Oh, this is by the way,” said the woman, “can you take a loaf of bread and some other supplies to my sister, she has been in heaven for a very long time.” She probably needs everything there. If I could also send her clothes, how nice that would be!
“I would gladly serve you,” answered the beggar, “but I cannot bear such a heavy burden.” A horse is needed here.
- This won’t be the case! - said the woman. - Take our Finetta, and on the way back you will bring her to us. How long will it take you to travel?
- I'll be back in three days.
The beggar took the mare and went his way, taking the dress and supplies.
Soon the husband returned home.
- Where is our Finette? - he asked his wife.
“Don’t worry,” the wife answered, “a good man just passed by here, he was heading to heaven, so I gave him our Finetga so that he could bring clothes and food supplies to my sister - she probably really needs it.” I sent so much that it will last her for a long time. This man will return in three days.
Brenborjo was very dissatisfied, but he waited three days, and then, seeing that the horse was still missing, he ordered his wife to get together with him to search. And so the two of them went around the whole area. Passing by the place where the dead horse was buried, Zhanna saw a horse's leg sticking out of the ground.
“Come here quickly,” she shouted to her husband, “Finette is already getting out of paradise!”
That’s why Brenborjo got angry when he saw his wife’s find!
