One hunter had two daughters of the same age. When they became adults, lovers began to visit them. But the hunter was strict and kicked everyone out. Therefore, the girls met their lovers secretly from their father.
One day one of the daughters asked her father where he would hunt today. The hunter was surprised by this question, but told his daughter the exact place. Then the girls agreed with their lovers so that they would follow their father, appear in front of him somewhere in the wilderness, cause a quarrel and kill him. Both immediately agreed to do what their friends suggested. They followed his father, appeared in front of him in the wilderness and killed him.
Late in the evening the dog, which always accompanied the hunter, returned home alone. Seeing her, the daughters cried out in mock joy:
-Father is finally coming home.
But the hunter did not come, and then the wife sent a servant to look for her husband.
The faithful dog ran ahead of the servant and showed the way. So she brought him to his dead owner. But what could the servant do? I wanted to pick up the owner to take him home, but he didn’t have enough strength. And then he ran home to report what had happened. The wife sobbed bitterly, mourning her husband, and now two people with a stretcher went for the deceased.
On the day of the funeral, both daughters ran away to their lovers. And at night, after the funeral, the hunter appeared in a dream to his wife and told her who was to blame for his death.
Then the poor woman, without ceasing to cry, began to loudly accuse her daughters. How could they decide to commit such a crime! How could they ruin their father for the sake of their beloved!
Then, fearing that strangers might find out what she was accusing her daughters of, their lovers decided to lure the woman into the forest and also kill her. They did it as they planned. But they did not notice that the faithful dog was running after its owner. She saw everything and remained to guard the dead body. For several days, howling sadly, she mourned the unfortunate woman. Then she wandered off as far as she could, still whining, and suddenly met a passerby.
He asked the dog what he was sad about. The dog told him everything and asked a passerby to bury its owner, as one should bury a person.
A passerby granted the dog's wish, and in gratitude she told him her master's secret: she showed him the place where the chest with money was buried. Now all the wealth belonged to the passerby.
He pulled the chest out of the ground and moved it to another secret place. But suddenly I remembered about the dog. After all, she knows everything, she followed him all the time, won’t she betray him? And, without thinking twice, he killed the dog.
A little time passed, and another person passed by this place. He came across a dead dog, took pity on the poor animal, dug a hole and buried the corpse. And at night the dog appeared to him in a dream, told him about everything that had happened, and began to persuade him to take advantage of the wealth. At first the man refused. He didn't want any reward for such a trifle. After all, he simply decided to hide her body from flies and ants.
Having woken up, the man laughed at his dream and was about to move on, but then he began to wonder: what if there really was a chest of wealth hidden in the place indicated by the dog? And the man went in search.
He started digging and soon saw a chest filled with money. Then the man decided to build himself a house on this very spot. I thought of it and went into the forest to get some branches and straw for the hut. But when he returned, the chest was no longer there; someone had stolen it.
He ran along the path and saw a fast-walking stranger, bent under the weight of a chest. “The chest is mine,” he said to himself and, having caught up with the one who stole the chest, he stabbed him with a knife. And then, for greater safety, I decided to take the chest away.
But while he was already burying the chest in a deep ravine, a passer-by walked by. He also wanted to take advantage of the happy opportunity. Having attacked the owner of the chest, he killed him.
How long will this man become the owner of wealth? Probably, there was someone fourth, and then a fifth, who wanted to take possession of the chest of money.
After all, money often deprives people of reason and makes them villains!
