He asked a friend about his life, and he said that his son had become a priest. The man was surprised: “The son of such a father dedicated his life to serving God!” And the acquaintance, continuing to talk, said that through his son he himself came to faith and radically changed his unlucky life.
- How could this happen? - the man was amazed.
“Once,” said the former drunkard, “I scolded my son with the last words.” And he bowed to me in response and asked for forgiveness. This act of my son turned my soul upside down. I couldn’t imagine that he, a priest, would ever ask for forgiveness from me, a bastard! I crippled his entire childhood, and he asks me for forgiveness! Since then something has happened to me. I stopped drinking and going out. Believed in God. Became a different person.
