One Hasidic Master always had a book nearby. And he did not allow anyone to look into it. When no one was around, he would close the windows and doors, and people would think, “Now he’s reading.” And when someone came, he carefully put the book away. He forbade even touching her! And of course, everyone was burning with interest.
When the Master died, the first thing his students did - after all, no one could stop them - they rushed to the mysterious book; it must have contained something significant. But when they opened it, they were very disappointed. Only on the first page was something written, the rest were completely empty.
On the first page there was only one sentence written:
“When you are able to erase the distinction between the shell and the content, you become wise.”
