Twenty miles northwest of Pyongyang there is a place called Busanghen. And there is a huge stone Buddha in that place. People called him the stone hero.
And then in the spring, in the year of Imdin, the hero suddenly began to shed bloody tears. The hero cries day, cries at night, he cried for seven whole days. Everyone here was scared, they remember how the old people said: the hero cried - expect trouble.

And so it happened. As soon as summer came, foreigners attacked Korea. Pyongyang was captured and they reached almost Pusanghen. But they can’t capture Busankhen—it’s guarded by a stone hero.
Korean soldiers gathered near Sunan and prevented the enemies from moving north. So they said at that time: “The foreigners began with Busan - Busan and will end.”
The Koreans won the Imda War, fought for seven whole years, and the rulers are only thinking about how to rob the people and return the wealth lost in the war.
Meanwhile, behind Amnokgan, another enemy army rose up. But at least that’s what the rulers need. They fight for power - and they don’t care about anything.
And then one day an old monk appeared near the reception hall, knocking on the well and shouting:
- Wake up, people, trouble is near! If you don't prepare, there will be no salvation!
They didn’t listen to the monk, cursed him, and drove him away with a stick.
And soon, in the year of Penchzha, it was winter, enemy hordes crossed the Amnokgan River and dealt with the then rulers.
They say that the stone hero was the monk.
