One married couple had a black cat. Everything was fine, except for those cases when the husband went to work far away and was sometimes absent from the house for a week. When he returned, he always found the cat very skinny and showered his wife with reproaches for not feeding him at all. She, with tears in her eyes, justified herself that this was not true; when the owner leaves, the cat does not touch his food. And this happened over and over again. Things got to the point where the couple were about to divorce because of the cat.
But one day my husband decided to go hunting. It so happened that he was unable to return home that same day. He had to spend the night in a forest lodge. Fearing wild animals, he climbed into the attic. He had just begun to fall asleep when, around midnight, he heard that various animals began to gather. Among them was the voice of his cat. At this gathering, all the animals reported to the Master of the Beasts.
When it was the cat’s turn, he admitted that he was working hard to get his owners to separate. When his owner goes far away, he does not touch his food. And when he returns, he sees the cat very skinny and beats his wife for it.
When the Master of the Beasts finished speaking, the animals said goodbye and dispersed. And the frightened hunter continued to lie in his place, afraid to move. He recognized his own cat perfectly and remembered everything that happened in this strange house. It became clear to him that all the animals that gathered here were nagual werewolves who harmed people. His cat was not really a cat, but a nagual who was looking to destroy his family. When dawn broke, the still frightened hunter got down from his bed and hurried to his home. When he returned, he told his wife what he had seen.
“I can’t believe what you’re telling me,” his wife said.
The man did not hesitate any longer, grabbed the nagual cat and killed him. From that day on, he realized that his wife was not to blame for anything, and he told her:
“Now I won’t beat you anymore, because I’ve already killed the culprit.”
This is how the problem was resolved. They lived happily, gave birth to children and told them about the existence of naguals.
