On one estate, the wine maker was always stealing bread. It always seemed to the master that not enough grain was being threshed. He thought: is the winemaker stealing bread? And he began to spy on him. One autumn morning
in the dark the winemaker arrives with a cart to the landowner's barn; He and his boy poured three sacks of rye, two were already loaded onto a cart and they were about to lift the third. And then, out of nowhere, the master appeared. The winemaker immediately untied the bag and poured out the grain.
- What are you doing here, rascals? - the master shouted, turning green with anger.
- What should I do, your honor? You always complain that we don’t grind enough. So I brought some pur rye from home.
The winemaker lived nearby.
- What? You, brute, have decided to transport bread from your house to my barn! I need your bread! Put it in the cart and leave so that your spirit is not here!
- As you order, master, if you order, then we will leave. Yanka, come on, let’s lift the bag onto the cart!
They filled the bag full, put it on the cart and left.
From that time on, the landowner never said that they were not threshing enough bread.
