Beggar and truth

Beggar and truth

A beggar wanderer once knocked on the house of an old man. The old man received him with love and invited him to stay the night.

- Who are you, poor man?

The beggar replied:

“I am a person who speaks the truth, so wherever I go, I am driven away.”

The owner was surprised and treated the guest to dinner. After eating, they went to bed. In the morning we got up and started getting dressed. The beggar saw that the old man was one-eyed and said to his face: you are crooked.

And then the old man got angry and kicked him out of the house, saying:

“You can’t find a place for yourself and have become hated by everyone, because you don’t tell people the truth, but you reproach people for their shortcomings.”

When spoken without love, the truth looks like an insult.
