One day the Spider was walking near the river and saw Beaver sleeping soundly on the bank.
- Now I’ll arrange it for him! - Spider was happy.
He tore off a piece of bark from the tree, laid Beaver on it and, trying not to wake him, dragged him to the farthest hill.
Here he pushed Bobrenok away.
- Hey brother, get up! How did you get here?
The little beaver, still half asleep, heard an unfamiliar voice and did what all beavers do: he dived. But alas, the river was not there, and he only rubbed his nose on the hard ground.
This completely amused the Spider. And while Beaver, scratching his paws on the prickly grass, got to his home.
The spider ran after and teased:
- Sleepyhead! Sleepyhead sleepyhead!
For Beaver it was even worse than thorny grass.
A few days later, having forgotten about his trick, the Spider again wandered to the river bank. The day was warm and sunny.
The spider relaxed, lay down to rest and fell asleep.
At this time, Beaver looked out of the water and saw a sleeping Spider.
“Yeah, now I’ll make fun of him,” Beaver rejoiced. And he began to dig a canal around the Spider. And then connected it to the river. So the Spider ended up on the island. Here Beaver pushed him away:
- Hey brother, get up! How did you end up on this island?
The spider opened his eyes, looked left, looked right.
“How,” “how,” he angrily imitated Bobrenok. - I know how.
And he glanced sideways at the water surrounding him.
The Spider had to swim to the shore.
When he finally got out of the water onto solid ground and lay down on the hot sand, he told Bobrenko that he couldn’t joke at all.
But Beaver only grinned in response.
