Knowing nothing about the world (they were so new), they took off their clothes and, completely naked, jumped into the cool water of the lake. The sun rose and people began to appear. Ugliness played a joke: when Beauty swam far into the lake, Ugliness climbed ashore, put on Beauty's clothes and ran away. By the time Beauty realized, “These people are gathered around, and I’m naked,” and started looking around for clothes... her clothes were gone! The ugliness disappeared, and Beauty stood naked in the sun, and a crowd gathered around her. Finding nothing better, she put on Ugliness's clothes and went to look for him so she could exchange clothes again.
This story says she is still searching. But the Ugly is insidious and continues to elude. Ugliness still wears the clothes of Beauty, disguises itself as Beauty, and she walks in the clothes of Ugliness.
