Bear and Chipmunk

Bear and Chipmunk

The bear went into the forest to chop an ax handle. He cut down the ax handle, went home, walked, walked, and got lost. It became dark, he lay down under the root of a fallen tree and fell asleep. In the morning I woke up, got up, and wanted to eat. The bear looked - the nutcracker was sitting on the tree, screaming. The bear came up and asked:

— Are there any bumps this year?

And the nutcracker says:

- There are no cones this year.

Bear said:

“You won’t die this year.”

He stepped forward and walked away. I walked until lunch and came to a small forest. Small cedars are standing, there are so many large cones on them that the branches are bent down. The bear climbed up a tree, began to throw cones down, threw a lot of cones, cried down, began to chew cones, began to eat nuts. Chipmunk came up and asked:

- What are you doing, buddy?

And the bear says:

“I got lost, I lost my den.”

And the chipmunk says:

“I know your area, your father and your mother raised me when I was an orphan. I can take you to your homeland.

The chipmunk tore the bark off the tree, blindfolded the bear, sat on its head and said:

- Now go.

The bear walked day and night, and in the morning the chipmunk said:

- Stop.

The chipmunk opened the bear's eyes.

“Now,” he says, “well, look!” Your places?

The bear opened his eyes and looked: a large spruce tree was standing, its branches were broken and the bark was scratched. I looked around and saw my den. Bear said:

- You are a good comrade, you brought me home.

He took the chipmunk, sat him on his paw and stroked his back. The bear's claws left five black stripes on the chipmunk's back.
