The wolf was walking through the forest and saw an owl sitting on a tall pine tree. The wolf came up and grabbed the pine tree tightly with its tail, as if it was going to saw it down. The owl, leaning out of the nest, said to him:
- Oh, godfather, please don’t drink the pine, my children will fall down and die. The wolf answers:
“If you don’t want me to cut down the pine tree, come down to me yourself.”

And he responded:
- Go down a little more, there’s work to do. The owl objected:
- Yes, you speak, I can hear it from here too. The wolf insists:
- Come down - do you understand? I won't do anything bad to you.
The owl made a mistake and went down to the wolf, and he snapped his teeth and grabbed the poor fellow. The owl speaks from the mouth of the wolf.
- Listen, godfather, wait for me, I haven’t made a will yet.
And the wolf responds:
- No way! Now you're caught, honey. The owl prays:
“At least let me say goodbye to the kids, they’re sitting alone on the tree.”
Wolf says:
“I won’t give it to you, godfather, otherwise you’ll probably run away.”
The owl obeyed:
“Okay, just tell them yourself that you ate me, otherwise they’ll be waiting.” Repeat three times so that they can hear: “I ate an owl!”
The wolf quietly said this so that it wouldn’t hurt to open his mouth:
- Ate an owl!
The owl reproaches:
- Why are you, godfather, so quiet, they can’t hear!
The wolf repeated “ate the owl!” a little louder.
And she is unhappy:
- Well, they didn’t hear! Come on louder!
The wolf opened his mouth to loudly shout “he ate the owl!”, and as soon as she broke free, she immediately flew up to the very top of the pine tree.
She looked down at the wolf and said:
- Look for another fool!
