One day, Meri and his brother Ari were playing, shooting blunt arrows, and wounded each other several times.
And suddenly Mary’s arrow accidentally hit his brother in the face. Ari immediately fainted and died. Mary, who never even thought that a blunt arrow could kill his brother, left him lying on the ground and went into the forest to hunt. He believed that Ari was just pretending, and when he saw his brother leaving, he would jump up and run after him. But no. Having walked a little and not seeing Ari, Mary returned to where they had played together. He returned and saw that his brother was lying on the ground, lifeless. Without hesitation, Mary went in search of medicinal herbs, made an infusion from them and sprinkled them on his brother’s body.
He did this several times, then left, covering Ari’s body with branches. Some time later he returned, but, scattering the branches, he realized that his brother was not yet showing signs of life, and, again covering his body with branches, he left.
A few days later, Mary again removed the branches and saw that his brother was breathing. Then, in order to frighten him and make him jump to his feet, Mary shouted:
- Ari, here come leopards, and pumas, and spotted jaguars, poisonous cobras and souls from another world! They want to attack you! Get up!
Ari replied:
- Yes, I am now; I somehow fell asleep...
The playing Sun helped Brother Moon get up and they - Mary and Ari - went hunting as if nothing had happened.
