Aldar Kusa and the thieves

One day Aldar Kusa was returning home from a long journey.

— When Aldar Kusa was already close to his native village, he shot four birds with one stone and cooked himself some stew.

Having had a hearty dinner, he lay down on his back and began to look at the sky.

Suddenly the clatter of horses and human voices were heard.

Aldar Kusa hid.

The seven thieves stopped at the foot of the hill. Aldar Kusa held out his gun and fired. All seven thieves fell face down and remained there.

Aldar Kusa came up and saw heavy packs on all the horses.

Aldar Kusa drove the horses home. His wife greeted him with loud cries: “Vai dod!” Guard!

- Wife, why are you crying? - Aldar asked Kusa in surprise. I'm back alive and healthy!

“It would be better if you didn’t come back,” the wife wailed, “our house is gone.” Tonight the robbers came and took all our things! - and began to scream more than ever.

Aldar Kusa groaned and began to unload the packs from his horses.

The wife laughed.

- Why are you laughing? - Aldar asked Kusa.

- But you brought our things! - answered the wife. Aldar Kusa saw that he had taken his own property from the thieves.
