Sufi Ajmal Hussein was constantly attacked by learned men who were afraid that his authority would eclipse their own.
They spared no effort in sowing doubts about his knowledge and accusing him of using mysticism as a cover from their criticism, and even accusing him of dubious activities.
Finally he said:
- If I respond to criticism, my answers will serve as food for the critics to make new accusations, and people will believe them - they willingly believe the slander.
If I don’t answer, the critics will rejoice and be proud of themselves, and people will believe that these are real scientists.
They think that we Sufis are opponents of learning. Not at all!
However, our very existence poses a threat to the claims of these vocal fellows to learning. In fact, learning has long since disappeared. What we see now is a parody of science.
At these words, the scientists became more furious than ever.
Then Ajmal said:
— Verbal arguments are not as effective as visual evidence. I will give you the opportunity to see what scientists really are like.
And he invited scientists to create a list of questions with which they could judge his knowledge and ideas.
Fifty professors and academicians sent him their lists of questions. Ajmal answered each of them differently.
When scientists met at a conference where these issues were discussed, and it was revealed that there were many interpretations of the information received about his views, each of the scientists adamantly stood that his interpretation was correct, refusing to accept other options. As a result, a so-called scandal broke out in the scientific world. Fierce mutual attacks continued for five days.
“Here is visual proof for you,” said Ajmal. “Everyone cares only about their own opinion and interpretation.” They don't care at all about the truth. They treat other people's teachings in exactly the same way. While you are alive, you are being poisoned. And after your death, they turn out to be experts in your works. However, the real motive of their activities is mutual rivalry and struggle with anyone who is not part of their circle.
