Afandi's testimony

Afandi's testimony
Enlight

A neighbor came to Afandi and told him:

“A friend of mine borrowed a measure of barley from me, and now he claims that he didn’t take anything.” I went to court, “buttered the throat” of the judge, and he promised to make a judgment in my favor, but added: “Even if your claim is false, still bring some witness so that everything looks according to the rules of Sharia.” I have a request for you, Afandi, go to the judge and tell him that I really gave the measure of barley to my friend. Well, what does it cost you? It's not far from here!

Afandi went to the judge and said:

“I know that my neighbor actually gave a measure of wheat to that man!” The surprised judge asked:

- Your neighbor wants to collect barley, and you are talking about wheat. Afandi replied:

“Mr. Judge, you know that my neighbor’s claim is false, and my testimony is also false. But since my neighbor decided to get something by lying, it’s better to get wheat than barley: it’s more expensive, and your pay will be higher!
