Abuse of power

Abuse of power

When you use your power, you must deeply respect and love others and All of Existence. Don't interfere in anyone's life with your intellectual ideas. If you have power, don't use it to manipulate others, use it creatively.

Vivekananda was a disciple of Ramakrishna, and in the ashram there lived a very simple, trusting man named Kalu. Vivekananda was an intellectual man and he always touched Kala.

Kalu turned his room into a temple. In India, some stones can turn into gods, and therefore Kalu had almost 3 hundred gods in his small room. Vivekananda always told him:

- Throw all your gods into the Ganges! This is stupid - there is no God in them.

But Kalu objected:

— I love these stones. They are wonderful. Ganga gave them to me, how can I get them back? No, I can't.

On the day when Vivekananda achieved his first satori, with the advent of the first power, an idea entered his mind... it would be wonderful to plant it in Kalu's head: "Kalu, take all your gods and throw them into the Ganges."

Ramakrishna was sitting not far away. He saw it all, but he waited. Soon Kalu came out with a large bundle, he carried all the gods in one large bag. Ramakrishna stopped him and asked:

- Wait! Where are you going?

“I thought it was stupid.” I’m going to throw these gods away,” Kalu said.

“Wait,” said Ramakrishna and called Vivekananda.

Ramakrishna shouted at him very angrily:

“Is this how you use your power?” - And then he turned to Kal. - Go back to yourself and put your gods in their places, this is not your idea, but Vivekananda’s idea.

Kalu admitted that the thought was somewhat strange, as if it was not his, but inspired from the outside.

Ramakrishna was very angry with Vivekananda and told him:

“Now I’ll take your key.” You will never achieve satori again. You will receive this key only three days before your death.

That's how it was. Vivekananda screamed and cried for years, but could not achieve another satori. He tried very hard. When Ramakrishna was dying, he asked him:

- Give me back the key.

But Ramakrishna said:

- No, because you are dangerous. Force cannot be used in this way. Wait. You're not pure enough yet. Keep crying and meditating.

And only three days before his death, Vivekananda again achieved satori. Now he knew that his death had come.
