The elder opened the door and said to the newcomer: “Say a prayer.” The one who came said: “And now, and ever, and unto ages of ages, Amen.” The elder again told him: “Make a prayer.” The demon said again: “And now, and ever, and unto ages of ages, Amen.” The elder told him for the third time: “Make a prayer.” The demon said for the third time: “And now, and ever, and unto ages of ages, Amen.” Then he said to him: “So say: Glory to the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit, now and ever, and unto ages of ages, Amen.” The demon, hearing this, disappeared, as if scorched by fire.
