Once a dervish came to one house and said to its owner: “Listen, I need three sheep’s caps.” Since the dervish was a very respected man, the owner of that house, although he had one sheep, immediately slaughtered it and began to cut hats. But, however, three hats cannot be obtained from one skin. And I suffered this way and that. And he lost the sheep and the dervish was dissatisfied. Then the dervish went to another house with the same request. The owner of the second house says to him: “Listen, you are a very respected person, but I only have one sheep. Stay and graze it and look after it, and if you take good care of it and God willing, in a year it will lamb, and in a year again, and in a year again. Then wait until the young lambs grow up and you will get yours.” The dervish decided that the owner of this house was right and it was better to be patient.
