Once upon a time there lived in the same village an old bachelor and an old maid. It took a year or two for their fellow villagers to persuade them to get married, and they finally persuaded them.
After the wedding, the newlyweds could not decide to go to bed for a long time - they were very shy about each other. When it began to get light outside, the wife, exhausted from fatigue, began to complain to her husband that she was feeling sleepy. But the old bachelor, with his characteristic simplicity, objected:
- If you want to sleep, go to bed alone. I'll wait a little longer. My grandfather told me that on the first wedding night something amazing and unique happens. So I want to see what exactly it is. And if I fall asleep, I won’t see anything.
