Once upon a time a poor traveler came to the elder and asked: “Father, why, when I come to a poor house, do they love me there, feed me, give me lodging and care? Then how in a rich house does everyone turn away from me and try not to notice me? Why is it so arranged that some, out of their poverty, share the last, while others, out of their abundance, do not give even a little?” The old man thought. Then he says: “Come to the window and look, what do you see there?” “Here,” says the traveler, “I see the sky, there are trees rustling, and there are children walking.” “Okay,” answered the elder. “Now go to the mirror over there and tell me what you see now?” “I see myself,” the traveler answered in confusion. “Well, you got the answer,” the old man sighed. - After all, both there and there are glass. But add a little silver, and you see only yourself.”
