Pushkin angered the Tsar, and he wanted to exile him, but the Tsar did not succeed in this matter. Pushkin disappeared. He walked around Russia and once came across a gypsy camp. He sees: tents are standing, horses are walking in the clearing, fires are burning. Gypsies sit near the fires, eat, drink tea, and nearby on a tree stump there is a blacksmith shop, horses are being shoed, and young people are singing songs with a guitar.
Pushkin did not immediately go to the camp, he stopped nearby and watched. He sees: the gypsy girl went into the forest to gather firewood. And there was a gypsy girl that was young and beautiful. Pushkin approached her and started talking. But it must be said that by that time Pushkin did not look like a lord, he walked on the ground for a long time and completely lost his temper. And Pushkin himself was handsome. The gypsy liked him and she brought him to her father. So Pushkin stayed with the gypsies to live in the camp.
Pushkin and Zemfira were married according to gypsy custom, as expected. And they began to live and live. The leader suggested to Pushkin:
- Live as you want, more, do what you want: if you want, work in a forge, if you want, take care of horses - your will.
But Pushkin did not become either a blacksmith or a gypsy dealer. He sat on a tree stump and wrote his books. And he also drew a lot: he drew gypsy children, horses, how gypsies dance, how they sing for the rich, how they ask for alms, how they tell fortunes - I drew everything as it is. It’s just a pity that these drawings have not survived to this day: they died in a fire in the camp.
How long or how long does it take for Zemfira to have a son from Pushkin? And then, as luck would have it, a gypsy fell in love with a guy from the camp. I started going on dates with him secretly.
One day Pushkin and Zemfira were lying down in the canopy, but as soon as he closed his eyes, Zemfira got up and walked away from him through the dew on a date. And then the child began to cry. Pushkin woke up and looked: his wife was gone. He rushed to look for her. He sees traces of dew leading from the tent. Pushkin followed the tracks and came across the lovers. They sit by the river, hugging.
Great anger seized Pushkin, and he could not restrain himself, grabbed a gypsy knife and killed the gypsy.
The camp gathered for the gypsy court. Is it unheard of: a man was killed, and even in his own camp?! They began to figure it out, judge and straighten things out.
“The gypsy died because of jealousy,” said the leader, “and the jealousy was right.” If Zemfira broke her word given to you before God, then according to the law she should have been killed.
“I couldn’t kill her.” I still love Zemfira, and what would my son do if I killed Zemfira? - Pushkin answered.
The old men deliberated for a long time and decided to condemn Pushkin according to the ancient custom: put him on a stone, and then expel him from the camp. Only for murder there was such a punishment. And when they put a person on a stone, his heart (as the gypsies believed) should have turned to stone for the gypsy family.
