There lived a peasant in a village. One day his wife fell ill, and he went for a doctor.
And at that time there was such a custom: if a patient whom a doctor was treating died, then a coconut was hung in front of the doctor’s house.
The peasant began to go from one doctor to another and chose the one near whose house there were fewer nuts hanging than the others - only two. He began to call that doctor to his wife, but he did not agree to go. Finally, the husband begged him, and two days later the patient died.
“Teacher,” the peasant turned to the Doctor. - How so? You only had two nuts hanging, and I thought that you only failed to heal two.
- That’s right, my dear. I was not able to heal only two from mortal earthly life.
