Abkhazians and Adygs

Once upon a time, a long time ago, the Circassians and Abkhazians quarreled. The dagger of war had already been drawn on the valley where the inevitable was about to happen. There were harsh wars between the Circassians and Abkhazians, ready to defend their truth and honor. The sky was gloomy and a light rain fell, as if nature was crying from the approaching fratricidal war. And so, at the last decisive hour, the elders of two free peoples came out - the guardians of traditions and mountain legends. Their sentence was short and decisive: “Between wars, a hundred Adyghe and Abkhaz women come out with newborn children, and each exchanges her child with the other.”

So this quarrel was put to an end and the elders, whitened by the wisdom of the age, said that “from now on the blood of each nation will flow in the other and that from now on there will never be war or quarrel between our peoples and we will always be united, like the blade of one dagger!”
