A story about frogs

In ancient times, one girl fell ill, she lay in a separate hut and refused the food that her mother offered her. Secretly from everyone, she killed the children of Water and ate them.

Her mothers decided to find out why the girl refused to eat, and one day, when all the women and children went in search of termite larvae, they told one girl to stay at home and told her to watch her older sister to find out what she was eating. But the girl knew nothing about it.

The girl, hiding in her mother's hut, saw her older sister leave the sick house and go down to the source. She killed the child of Water, brought it home and cooked it, and when she had eaten all the meat, she lay down again. But the girl was watching her and saw everything.

When the girl’s mother returned, the girl told her about what happened, how her older sister killed some beautiful creature that was in the water.

Her mother guessed, she exclaimed:

- It was a child of Water.

And she said nothing more and went back in search of termite larvae.

Suddenly she saw that the sky was covered with clouds and a hurricane arose.

She said:

“Apparently, something is wrong at home.” The whirlwind carries everything to the source.

And because her daughter killed the children of Water, a whirlwind carried them all into the water. And the girl, through whose fault this happened, was carried away by the whirlwind first. She fell into the water and turned into a frog. Following her, a whirlwind picked up her mothers, who were collecting roots, he carried them into the water, and they also turned into frogs. Then the whirlwind picked up her father, who was hunting there, and carried him to the source, he also turned into a frog. And so they all turned into frogs. And all their things: their father’s arrows, the reed mats from which the huts were made - everything ended up in the water, as the people became frogs. They now grow near the water, these are the things of the first people who lived here before us.
