Here is the story of a young man who went to seek happiness.

One man called his son before his death and told him this:

- My son, I know that I will die soon. I want your life to be happy. The son asked:

- Father, tell me, what should I do to become happy? The father replied:

- Go around the world, and they will tell you how to find happiness. Father died. And the son went on his way. He reached the river and saw a horse wandering along the bank - skinny, hungry, old.

-Where are you going, young man? - asked the horse.

- I'm going to look for happiness. Maybe you know where I can find it?

“Listen, young man, what I’ll tell you,” the horse answered. “When I was young, everyone groomed me, gave me water, and fed me.” I didn’t even turn my head towards the manger - I waited for it to be brought to my very mouth. I didn’t know my job, I didn’t care about others, and I thought that there was no one happier in the world than me. And now I have become old, and now others do not care about me. Therefore, I tell you, young man, take care of your youth. Don’t take care of her the way I took care of her. Don’t wait for everything to be prepared for you by someone else’s hands. Take on every task. Know how to rejoice in someone else's joy. Don't be afraid of your worries. Then until your death you will have both love and friendship. Then happiness will always be with you.

The young man went further. I walked for a long time and saw a snake on the road.

-Where are you going, young man? - asked the snake.

“I’m walking around the world, I want to know where I can find happiness?”

“Listen to what I tell you,” said the snake. “All my life I have been proud of my poisonous sting. I thought that I was stronger than everyone, because everyone was afraid of me. But it turned out that I was wrong to think so. Everyone hates me. Everyone wants to kill me. I'm hiding from everyone. I'm afraid of everyone myself. You also have a sting in your mouth - your tongue. Be careful that your words do not unnecessarily sting others. Then you will live your life without fear, then you will not have to hide from anyone. Then you will find your happiness.

The young man went further. He walked and walked and saw a tree. And the Kari-Kari bird was sitting on a tree. Her feathers are bright, blue, shiny.

- Young man, where are you going? - asked the bird Kari-Kari.

- I walk around the world, looking for my happiness. Maybe you know where to find him?

The Kari-Kari bird replied:

- Listen, young man, what I tell you. You've obviously been on your way for a long time. Your face is covered with dust, your clothes hang in tatters. You don't look like yourself anymore. People you meet turn away from you. Even happiness will not want to know you. Remember my advice: let everything about you be beautiful. Then everything around you will become beautiful. Then you will see your happiness.

And the young man returned home. He now knew that he didn’t have to go anywhere to find happiness.
