Once upon a time there lived a man, and he had a wife and daughter. Once he said to them: “Let’s go to the vineyard to eat grapes.”

So they came to the vineyard. The owner began to swallow whole handfuls of grapes, and his wife and daughter ate little by little, berry by berry.

Having eaten his fill, the owner shouted:

Live, live, it's time to go home!

No, we want more grapes.

Live, live, it's time to go home!

No, we want more grapes.

Then the owner went away alone and said to his dog:

Dog, go bite my wife and daughter.

Master, I don’t want to bite your wife and daughter. Then the owner took a stick to beat the dog. But the stick said:

Master, I don't want to hit the dog. Then the owner threw the stick into the fire. But the fire said:

Master, I don't want to burn the stick. Then the owner said to the water:

Water, pour on the fire. But the water answered:

Master, I don't want to start the fire. Then the owner said to his oxen:

Oxen, drink some water. But the oxen answered:

Master, we don't want to drink water.

Then the owner took a yoke to harness the oxen. But the yoke said:

Master, I don’t want to harness your oxen. Then the owner said to the rat:

Rat, chew the yoke. But the rat answered:

Master, I don’t want to bite the yoke. Then the owner said to the cat:

Cat, eat the rat.

And the cat wanted to eat the rat.

The rat wanted to chew on the yoke.

Yarmo wanted to harness the oxen.

The oxen wanted to drink water.

The water wanted to douse the fire.

The fire wanted to burn the stick.

The stick wanted to beat the dog.

The dog wanted to bite the mother and daughter.

And mother and daughter wanted to return home as soon as possible.
