Mushfiki rode around the surrounding villages on a donkey. In the evening he drove up to the village mosque and decided to spend the night here. Fearing donkey thieves, he took the donkey into the mosque and tied it near the mehrob. He himself lay down at the entrance.
Early in the morning a cleric entered the mosque. He carried the leather galoshes he had taken off at the entrance in his hands to place them at the mekhrob. But then he saw a tied donkey. Indignant, he shouted:
“Which infidel brought the donkey here and placed it near the mekhrob?” Mushfiqi replied:
“You, a Muslim and the spiritual father of Muslims, protect your galoshes from thieves by placing them at the mekhrob!” But my donkey is ten times more expensive than your galoshes!
